August 17, 2010

Life has been pretty crazy at the Richard's house over the last few weeks. As all of you know we found out we are pregnant! Unfortunately, I tend to find these things out WAY too far in advance. So far in advance in fact that I seem to baffle the doctors and ultrasound technicians. Thankfully I know my body better than they do, so I am able to explain to them that I am not as far along as they thought I was. So when they say they think I am 7 weeks pregnant, I can tell them that I think I am only 3 weeks pregnant, and so and so forth. Anyways, I appreciate you all going through this long process with me, and hopefully Thursday will be my last ultrasound for a while, and they will indeed be able to date this pregnancy properly.

With all that being said, and while I am sure that everything is going smoothly.I can't help but have a little doubt and fear that maybe things aren't progressing as they should. This is what I get for having time on my hands to think about stuff. As I said, Thursday I go for my next ultrasound and my trusty sonogram partner Jess will be there with me. Thomas is going to stay home and take some work calls while Madden takes his nap. While I am sure I would be fine going by myself, I would much rather have some sort of support system with me. That is where Jess comes into play. I am very thankful to have her in my life. So after I get the all clear Thursday, hopefully I will get more excited and start some baby shopping.

In Madden news, we had bought him an easel at Ikea recently, in hopes that we could get his artistic chops flowing. We used the Dry Erase part of the Easel for a while, and he seemed to pick up on it very quickly, we then discovered that we had to erase his beautiful artwork : ( So we quickly decided to buy him some roll paper and some washable markers to save these pieces of art. I am pretty impressed while watching him doodle, he seems to have a nice ebb and flow to his work, and he really looks like he knows what he is doing. It's times like these where I know I have a little smartypants on my hands, now if I could only get him to say more words, instead of the constant grunting. I guess that is the boy in him, and should cherish it while it lasts. It is hard to believe he is going to be 2 years old in 10 days! I am sure we will all never forget August 27, 2008. I know I never will! So here are a few pics from Madden's recent doodling adventures, just to show how much the little man has grown in 2 short years!
